Mike’s Goals for Weld County
I will work to continue the great tradition of Weld County Government in which we have no long-term debt, no short-term debt, and no sales tax.
In addition to these exceptional standards, I will work with our other County Commissioners to continue to lower your property taxes going forward just as we did in 2015.
A main focus over the next four years will be on transportation and infrastructure. The County marked a huge accomplishment in 2017 with the completion of CR49. We will continue to enhance roads and make several road improvements throughout the county to ensure our roads will handle the anticipated growth. In addition, I will use my position on the I25 coalition to advocate for solutions to the I25 congestion we’ve all grown tired of experiencing.
The importance of water storage on sustaining agriculture production continues to be a top priority, especially in District One. My personal and professionally experiences make me uniquely qualified to address this issue that we face as District One residents.
I will always concentrate on economic development to ensure we bring sustainable businesses and new high paying jobs to Weld County.
Most importantly, I will work very hard to continue to protect private property rights, defend the industries important to our County such as agriculture and oil and gas, defend our first and second amendment rights, reduce and streamline regulations, and make our county government transparent and accountable.
It has been a true honor to represent the good hard-working folks of District One for the past eight years. I am very passionate about Weld County and the families that live in our great County. As your commissioner and as I have done for the past eight years, I commit to listen to and work to address your concerns and suggestions to the best of my abilities. I thank you for your support over the years and would greatly appreciate your vote during the primary election on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
